Replace Storage Heaters in Bournemouth

Storage heater replacement in Bournemouth (BH1–BH11): old night storage heaters out, modern electric radiators you control room by room — with removal and disposal of the old units included.

We come out to Bournemouth from our base at Hurn in Christchurch, and the job runs the same way everywhere we work: a free home survey first, then a written recommendation, then removal and disposal of the old system, installation and a proper handover of the controls. No pressure at any point, and no obligation to go ahead.

The problem with night storage heaters

A night storage heater charges up overnight on a cheaper rate and then releases that heat across the day whether you are in or not. By early evening — when most people actually want warmth — it has usually given up. You end up paying for heat at three in the afternoon in an empty house, then reaching for a plug-in fan heater at eight in the evening on the day rate. That is the expensive way round.

The switch

What replaces the old system

Near-instant heat

Magmatic heat retention stones bring the radiators up to temperature quickly — no overnight charge before you feel warmth.

24-hour programmable thermostat

Every radiator runs its own schedule, programmable across the full day, so the heat follows how you actually live.

Runs on a standard tariff

The replacement radiators work on a normal 24-hour supply — no Economy 7 required.

Heat retention stones

The stones keep releasing warmth after the element switches off — rated at 45+ minutes of heat from 15 minutes of electricity.

Slim and wall-mounted

A fraction of the depth of a storage heater, in designs made to fit almost any room, on any wall.

How the job runs

From survey to switch-on

  1. Free home survey

We visit, measure each room and look at how you actually live in the house. Heat output is sized per room — a guess made over the phone is how people end up cold in the room they use most.

  2. A written recommendation

You get a clear proposal setting out what we would install, why that specification, and what it costs. No pressure and no obligation to go ahead.

  3. Removal and disposal

We take out the old system and dispose of it. Storage heaters are heavy, awkward and often full of decades of dust — that is our job, not yours.

  4. Installation and handover

We install, test and then show you how to run it. Getting the controls right is most of the saving, so we do not leave until you know how to use them.

Storage Heater Replacement in Bournemouth — start with the free survey

The survey is free, the recommendation is written down, and there is no obligation to go ahead. Call, or book and we'll come out to Bournemouth to measure up.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove a storage heater myself?
We would strongly advise against it. Storage heaters are wired directly into the wall and are packed with dense thermal bricks — a large unit holds a great many of them, and they are genuinely heavy. Our team isolates the supply, strips the unit down brick by brick with proper lifting equipment, and takes everything away.
Will I still need my Economy 7 tariff?
No. The radiators we fit in place of storage heaters run on a standard 24-hour electricity supply, so you are no longer tied to a night-and-day tariff. Where an off-peak tariff still genuinely suits the household, we will say so at survey.
What sizes do the replacement radiators come in?
The range covers three main formats — standard, vertical and low level — so the right output fits the wall space you actually have. Each room is sized at the survey before anything is ordered.
What can I replace my night storage heaters with?
Usually either modern electric radiators controlled room by room, or high heat retention storage heaters where your tariff still rewards off-peak charging. Which suits you depends on the tariff, the building and how you use the house — that is what the free survey establishes.

Still deciding? The survey is free, and so is walking away afterwards.
